Becoming an Intern
Becoming a member of KXSC is very easy, just sign up for the intern mailing list and you are officially a KXSC intern!
There will be a weekly email sent out by the intern coordinator with the various opportunities for you to help out all around the station. You can post flyers for upcoming shows, write music reviews, record Public Service Announcements (PSAs), help at concerts, and much more.
Interning at KXSC is a two-step process. First, you will complete 10 hours of work outside of the studio. There are multiple opportunities all around the station; you can post flyers for upcoming shows, write music reviews, record Public Service Announcements (PSAs), help at concerts, and much more. This time helps to introduce you to our staff, DJs, and your fellow interns while learning about all the different departments and elements that go into running KXSC!
After that, you can become an in-studio intern. You will spend some time in-studio with a DJ who will teach you all the technical skills you need in order to host your own show at KXSC!
You should move through these interning stages at your own pace. Some interns complete the process within a semester, some take a year. It is up to YOU to determine when and how much time you can devote.
No previous radio experience is necessary in order to get involved at KXSC, and we accept interns throughout the entire academic year.
Feel free to contact KXSC's Intern Program Director at internprogram@kxsc.org if you have any additional questions.
